My current thinking and interest is concerned with the positioning of individuals within families, social groups and institutional organisations. Themes of inclusion, acceptance, belonging, roles, rejection and expulsion are open to exploration. I am working on a large painting; a reworking of existing artwork using layers and mixed media.
In general my art practice is eclectic and changing; often informed by my responses as an art psychotherapist with children and adolescents. A large part of my creativity involves working with ready made ephemera, be it found, photographed or manipulated in response to feelings and thoughts evoked by objects I notice. In working with the liminal space inhabited with thought, feelings and memory I am interested in the relationship between artwork, artist and audience. This refers to the three way relationship pertinent to art psychotherapy process.
