My current work is a response to growing awareness of unconscious processes in myself and others, brought about by training as an art psychotherapist and working with clients.
In this series I explore my experience of the process of printing. What is left on the paper is the result of an attempt to capture or replicate something. Each feather print holds a memory of the original object - an imprint, a tiny shadow or ghost left behind - an attempt to find the meaning of something which is now gone. As with other recent work, the images document a continuing and repetitive search. I'm interested in how the sensations of an art making process such as casting, drawing, or printing, can be a concrete textural way of working something out.
